The Ghana Institute of Social Democracy (GISD) is a fully registered as a foundation and does not run academic programs. Our courses are tailored to provide capacity building to party members and beyond.

Our Mission

Conduct Research Activities

Conduct research activities to generate evidence to support the party’s ideological principles, social policies as well as voter behavior and electoral issues. We will undertake analysis of national, and global development issues and advise the party and its government accordingly. We will also support the party in the formulation of policies and in the preparation of Party Manifestoes and other sector-specific policy documents.

Promote Social Democracy

To promote social democracy as the preferred political system in Ghana through awareness creation and behavioral change communication leading to enhanced commitment to representative and participatory democracy, income redistribution, regulation of the economy in the general interest, and social welfare provisions.

Train Party Members

Train party members on the party’s ideologies, leadership and other topics relevant to party operations and elections management.
